An Everlasting Love

Jeremiah 31:3 KJV
The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
God loved us before He created us. That is an amazing thought. From everlasting, the Lord knew each of us by name, and had set His love upon us. From before the world was made, God and Christ decided that they were going to have a way for man to be restored into His divine image, should he fall.
Christ was the “Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:8. It is a mystery how Jesus could love us so much, that He would choose to give up His life for us, even before we were made. And not only did He give up His life, but He suffered terribly in doing so. That is something our minds will continue to stretch to understand. God is love, and love is eternal.
Christ said, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” John 12:32. He demonstrated His lovingkindness on the cross of Calvary, and by this means He draws all of us to Himself. God is wonderful, worthy of our highest praise and adoration, “For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100:5.
