The Dew of Israel

Hosea 14:5-6 KJV
I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. [6] His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
When the Bible mentions Israel, in the literal sense it speaks of the Jewish nation who unfortunately rejected Christ; however in the spiritual sense it speaks of God’s people all over the Lord that love Him and keep His commandments.
Jesus is the One who gives life to all, and He only can give spiritual life to the sons of men. He, through the Agency of the Holy Spirit, refreshes our souls as the dew falls upon the delicate herb. Only in Him can we grow in grace and loveliness of character, and under His guidance we expand in mind and depth.
He promises that as we keep His commandments, He will beautify our countenance, and purify our bodies. Christ is the wellspring of life for His people, and He invites not only the Jews but the entire world to make Him their Lord and Saviour. “For the LORD taketh pleasure in His people: He will beautify the meek with salvation.” Psalm 149:4.
