Noah, a man that “found grace in the eyes of the Lord” Genesis 6:8, was given a particular message for his day. It was the Present Truth for his time and it was a message of mercy. The Lord instructed him to prepare an ark, that the people might be protected from the coming global, catastrophic flood. His faith was stretched to the limit, for he had never seen it rain upon the earth. Yet by faith he moved with obedience or with fear, and he did as the Lord instructed him. “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;…” Hebrews 11:7.
The Bible tells us, “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24:37. The Lord has given the Seventh Day Adventist Church a message for the world, it is the Present Truth for our time, and it is another message of mercy. Dear reader, there is an ark of safety from the coming destruction of this world, and you and your family can be saved in it.
What is this ark of safety? It is the name of the LORD. “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10. The Bible here is using figurative language, for we cannot literally run into the name of the Lord. Then what does it mean when it says “the name of the Lord?” To extract the literal meaning of this passage we have to use another scripture to define what the name of the Lord means in this instance, as it is used figuratively.
In the book of Exodus chapter 33, we read of a conversation between God and Moses. Moses said to God, “…I beseech thee, shew me Thy glory.” And the Lord said to Moses, “I will make all My goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee;…” Exodus 33:18-19. Moses asked the Lord to show him His glory, and the Lord said that He will proclaim His name.
In the following chapter the Lord does what He promised. “And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.” “And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,” “Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.” Exodus 34:5-7.
God told Moses that He would declare His name, but what God literally declared was His character. The Bible here reveals that the “name of the Lord” symbolically represents God’s character or God’s glory. Therefore when we read that the “name of the Lord is a strong tower,” in Proverbs 18:10; we understand that the character of God is a strong tower, and that in it there is safety. In other words, the people that posses the character of God, through obeying His commandments, will be safe during the time of the destruction of this world.
Let us study this a little more. The Bible tells us that the wrath of God will be poured out upon the world before the second coming of Christ. The wrath of God is the seven last plagues of Revelation 16. “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.” “And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.” Revelation 15:1; 16:1.
God’s threatenings and promises are all conditional. The Lord makes it plain what is the condition to receiving the wrath of God or the seven last plagues. “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,” “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:” Revelation 14:9-10.
God warns that if a person worships the beast and his image, or receives his mark in his forehead or in his hand, that individual will receive the wrath of God or the seven last plagues. The word if implies that this is conditional; and the condition is based on worship. Since the end result of this worship is the wrath of God, we understand that it must then be false worship. It is the worship of the beast and his image, not the worship of God. A close study of Revelation 13 and the Daniel 7, 8, and 11 will identify the Beast as the Roman Catholic Church or the Papacy, and his Image as apostate Protestant America.
Within Christendom, there are two distinct days of worship. There is Sunday worship (first day of the week) and Sabbath worship (seventh day of the week). Sabbath worship is given in the fourth Commandment, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Exodus 20:8. While Sunday worship is a relic or tradition of the Catholic Church. The world will be tested on this issue of Sabbath worship versus Sunday worship. It is either we follow God’s commandments or we hold to man’s tradition. Those who obey the tradition of men above God’s law, will receive the wrath of God or the seven last plagues of Revelation 16.
The Roman Empire, Constantine the Great, on the day of March 7, AD 321, passed a civil edict to command that "all judges and townships and all occupations of trade rest on the venerable day of the sun." Since then much of the Christian world has been keeping Sunday as a day of rest, as it was promoted and backed by the influence of the Roman Catholic Church. However, God is calling His people back to true worship before He returns, that being on the seventh day commonly called Saturday. “But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:” “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 20:10-11.
It is plain from scripture that the seventh day is the Sabbath. The laws of the land will one day conflict with laws of Jehovah, and man will utilise force to promote false worship. “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:” “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:16-17. The “he” here refers to the image of the beast or apostate protestant America. America will one day pass a law causing or forcing people to worship on Sunday, this is known as the Mark of the Beast. Those who refuse to rest on Sunday will not be allowed to buy or sell, and will ultimately be persecuted.
The Sunday law crisis will begin in America and then the rest of the world. How close are we to this crisis? We already see America gradually forming the kind of government that will enact religious laws. This can only be a civil government that is strongly influenced by the church. It is a union of church and state. The trump administration has been very active in installing Evangelical Ministers into the White House to assist him in forming policies to govern the nation; and there is an ongoing attack on the first Amendment of the US constitution which protects freedom of speech and prohibits the establishment of religion in the government. Project 2025 aims to make America more conservative having Christian values; and there is a push for a Green Sabbath, which they identify as Sunday, through the climate change agenda. "The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the undercurrent is tending. Its professions are mild and apparently Christian, but when it shall speak it will reveal the spirit of the dragon." Testimonies or the Church Vol 5, pg 452.1.
After the Sunday Law crisis, which is soon to take place, God will stand up to judge the world for their rejection of His law by pouring out the seven last plagues. Dear reader, we pray that you and your family will find safety in the name of the Lord through all God’s Commandments by His grace and power. He will protect and deliver His people in the time of trouble. God bless you.
