What is the True Issue?
There is an issue facing our world that lies at the foundation of all that we are experiencing as men and women. This publication answers the question of why human beings hardly reflect the image or character of God; and what is the solution to the moral declivity in the world. How will God restore His moral image in men and women and what caused us to lose His image in the first place?

As children we were so innocent and happy, playing for most of our waking hours without a tint of worry or care. We had not the capacity to carry responsibilities, nor much of the ability to perceive danger, therefore life to us was a constant bliss. As we grew older, life started to unravel into more complicated scenes. Strange emotions and thoughts began to enter our minds; and it became apparent that the world was not such a kind and safe place as was our playground.
Nevertheless we could not slow down nor pause the motion of time, we continued to grow. We were hurried off to high school to study and to sit exams. Then to university - more exams. People said, “You must get a degree and you have to get a great job!” Then we entered the working world, the treadmill of the ‘nine-to-five’. After which came marriage and then children of our own; and with them the cycle will continue. Generation after generation have passed through this world, however at some point we have to pause and ask, “What is happening here? And will this current state of things continue on forever?"
There is great issue that needs to be addressed, but we are not afforded the time to consider what it is. Why is it that we all have to die? And therefore why are we here? Why is this all happening? Could someone please tell me? Dear reader, do these thoughts come into your mind? The world we live in today spares us no time to consider this matter; and I know that for some these thoughts are terrifying because of the uncertainty which lies beyond the grave. But we need not be afraid, there is a wonderful explanation for all this, and the Bible reveals that our end will be an excellent one if we make the right decisions in this present life.
The Creator has made it plain what He intends to do, “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death:” Hosea 13:14 KJV. We do not have to be afraid to consider this matter. God is working zealously to save all of us, because He did not create us in vain. "Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with My whole heart and with My whole soul.” Jeremiah 32:41 KJV. The problem is that we do not know what is happening, and we do not understand the true issue as we are just hurried through life. But the Lord our God “Will not keep silence.” Psalm 50:3.
What should we have been?
The Bible tells us that God made human beings in His image and likeness, we are His offspring. “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.” “…For we were also His offspring.” Genesis 1:27; Acts 17:28 KJV. Since we are His offspring, we are to be as He is. We are to have His physical stature and moral character. Regarding God’s character, the Bible tells us that, “...God is love.” 1 John 4:16. Therefore human beings were created with loving characters, but evidently a change has occurred. Our characters and physical stature do not reflect the depiction of God given in the Bible. We see human beings with crooked statures and crooked characters, but the Bible says that God is upright in stature and in character. God’s image (moral character) and likeness has been marred in us, but He will restore it prior to His second coming.
How did we lose God’s image? How will it be restored?
To understand how we lost God’s image we have to go back to the beginning. The first humans in existence disregarded a plain instruction given by the Creator, they ate something deadly to themselves. “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:17 KJV. What happens when we eat something deadly? We lose our physical health. Thus it was in the beginning; the perfect physical health of the first pair was lost in Eden and has been declining with each successive generation. This is the true issue that needs to be addressed. Human beings are not healthy physically, mentally nor morally - still to this day. Christ cannot come until this fundamental issue has been resolved. Human beings need to recover their physical health which will restore their mental and moral health.
One would ask, “What does physical health have to do with morality?” Morality concerns our behaviour and actions towards others and ourselves. Our ability to judge what is right or wrong behaviour is governed by the prefrontal cortex of our brain. Therefore among us humans morality is based on the judgment of each individual (Proverbs 21:2) - what is moral to one person may not be considered moral to another. Since morality is dependent on our judgment, which is governed by our brain, our brain is then the seat of morality. However, this we have to remember - the brain is housed within the body. Therefore proper brain function relies on physical health, hence morality on physical health. A corrupt body produces corrupt thoughts and feelings; and the thoughts and feelings make up a person’s moral character. If the blood and brain is kept pure then the thoughts, emotions and character will be pure.
We are to note that God made us in His moral image. This means that His character and moral judgement is what we are to have. Every man’s judgment cannot be acceptable in matters concerning right and wrong behaviour; for this has led to much confusion and wickedness in the world. God wants to restore His morals in men and women; and He wants to restore us mentally and morally through the healing of the physical body - the only way in which this is possible. Thus the plan of salvation is a healing of the human race. God says, “Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them”. “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for Thou art my praise.” Jeremiah 33:6; 17:14 KJV. Should we give God the opportunity to heal us fully, then we shall be saved in these last days. Our salvation is not a theory, it is a practical restoration of the entire human machinery - body, mind and soul.
How will God heal us?
Our only Healer is God. There is none that can truly fix save the One who made. There is no remedy that can cure human beings from sickness - physical, mental nor moral, without the help of the Great Physician, Jesus Christ. Our God liveth and He is still a mighty worker today. Even though He is a mighty worker He still needs our help and co-operation, because He cannot force. He wants us to work with Him by being obedient to His instructions given in the Bible and true science that we may avoid bringing diseases on our body and mind, thereby weakening our moral judgement. God says, “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” Exodus 15:26 KJV.
